Personal Training

As many of you know, I’m going to school to become a certified personal trainer. School is tough, but I’m absolutely LOVING it!! It takes a lot of time and a ton of hard work, but it’ll be worth it in the end.

While I’m going to school, the director of the program, he’s been talking to me and he says I’m already VERY knowledgable in fitness and personal training. If I wanted, I could start training people now! YES!!!

So, I’ve already been picked up by a gym and I workout at that gym and if we can get enough people, they’re going to let me teach a bootcamp class.

The hardest part though is finding clients. I’ve put the word out on Facebook, I’ve put the word out on Twitter, I tell my friends and family to tell friends and family, but I seem to be getting no where. 😦

Yesterday, I posted an ad on KSL (like Craigslist) for 2 free personal training sessions. I want to start out by offering 2 free personal training sessions along with a 1 week free membership to the gym I go to. Just so I can get the clients in the door & get experience, but so far, nothing on that ad either. 😦

I don’t know what to do. I could really use the extra money, plus I want the experience as well.

Do you have any suggestions on how I can get personal training clients? What do you look for in a personal trainer/coach?

  1. Hi, is there something that you can specialise in to sell yourself? Like endurance training, strength training, circuits or anything like that? Pick a part of the market and go from there maybe. What’s popular at the moment?
